The Fishers Parks department recently welcomed Jordan Brouillard as the new assistant director.

Brouillard, from Plainfield, Indiana, has a 15-year background in parks and recreation. He previously worked for the Town of Plainfield in several different roles, most recently as general manager for the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center.

“As I learned more about the parks industry, it became really evident that I was passionate about providing good quality of life for the residents of the communities that I worked for and being able to serve the people who live in those communities,” Brouillard said.

This particular parks-focused role was attractive to him because of the sense of community and great quality of life that the City of Fishers possesses and encourages.

He’s excited to be a part of the booming, growing community of Fishers, a place many people are moving to and visiting.

“When I think about the parks and rec department, I think our role is to provide that value add to what a community is,” Brouillard said. “Being able to provide those experiences for people to come here — especially the really memorable ones — that’s really exciting to me, and that’s what I’m really passionate about.”

In his new role, Brouillard aids the processes of strategic planning, community event planning, summer camp programming, and other initiatives. He strives to create plans that promote and provide great amenities that bring senses of joy, pride, and life to Fishers residents.

Brouillard’s team is looking forward to the opportunities that the new Fishers Community Center at Johnson Farm will bring to Fishers. He is excited about this addition as it will be a valuable amenity and fresh way for Fishers residents to engage with one another and participate in various program offerings and activities.

Another project he is working on right now is preparation for Boo Bash — an event on Saturday, October 28 at the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Boo Bash will present live music, entertainment, food trucks, games, and activities for the community of Fishers to enjoy.

Brouillard encourages the residents of Fishers to get out and enjoy and engage in the various parks and events that the City has to offer.

“We have a lot of variety of parks here,” Brouillard said. “Whether you’re looking to play on a playground, play pickleball, go swimming at Geist Waterfront, explore a nature preserve, pick produce at the Agripark, definitely come out to those parks, see what we’re all about and explore your options to see how you can have fun and get involved in the community.”
