This month, Fishers City Hall is home to the first-ever juried art exhibition in the city’s history. Organized by the Fishers Arts Council (FAC) and sponsored by Jiffy Lube of Indiana, the Juried Exhibit of Hamilton County Artists features 29 artists who have lived or are currently living in Hamilton County. The public exhibition is free to visit and now on display at the Art Gallery at City Hall (1 Municipal Drive) and virtually on the Fishers Arts Council website.

This exhibit has been a longtime dream for FAC board president, Tom Rich. In talking with local artists, Rich identified a need for a juried art exhibition to provide credibility and prestige to the Art Gallery at City Hall program, which hosts a new art exhibit every month at Fishers City Hall. Not only does the juried art exhibit give artists more recognition and a platform to sell their work, but it also offers them a chance to win a cash prize. Rich hopes to make the exhibition an annual event.

Participating artists have each displayed one work on the first floor of City to be juried, along with a complementary second work of their choosing on the second floor. Artists Jeanne McLeish and Mark Burkett are serving as jurors for the exhibition.
