Total Solar Eclipse

Save the date – the Total Solar Eclipse is happening on Monday, April 8! Fishers and Hamilton County are right in the path of totality, and Indiana is bracing for hundreds of thousands of visitors during this weekend. The Eclipse will take place on the last day of Hamilton Southeastern Schools’ spring break, so you may want to consider returning home on or before Saturday, April 6 as traffic will be heavy.

Get your eclipse-viewing glasses by participating in Hamilton East Public Library’s Winter Reading Program. We encourage residents to watch the Eclipse from their homes, and please be aware that if you do travel, you are at risk of extended public safety response times in the instance of an emergency on this day. Find safety tips and more info here.

Snow Fight

Fishers DPW works hard to keep our roads safe during winter weather events. You can help the Fishers Snow Fight team before a snowstorm by moving parked cars and basketball goals from streets, shoveling snow away from fire hydrants, and clearing storm drains of leaves, snow, ice, and other debris. Don’t forget to give snowplows extra room on the roads during a snow event. Learn more at
