We said goodbye to the Fishers Farmers Market’s summer season at the end of September, but after fantastic community support, Fishers Parks has launched its first-ever Fall Farmers Market. The first full week in October welcomed back community favorites for a virtual version of the market so many in Fishers are used to.

The idea is simple, you can shop 9 a.m. Sunday through noon Wednesday each week through Dec. 18, and on Fridays, orders are delivered, no contact, to your door.

Through the fall market, we’ll be highlighting a market vendor each week. This week, we’re taking a look at Le Petit Gateau.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Le Petit Gateau owner Chris Holland started the business in mid-summer 2019 and is a newer vendor with the Fishers Farmers Market.

WHAT TO GET

Scones or muffins

Q&A with Chris Holland, owner of Le Petit Gateau

Q: Why did you start your business?
A: “It was actually somewhat of a fluke. I was working in the industry for awhile but looking to start my own business. Indie Coffee Roasters in Carmel contacted me to provide baked goods, and it took off from there!”

Q: What products do you sell and what is your most popular product?
A: “Our popular wholesale products are the scones and muffins. We offer six different flavors of scones. On the retail level, the croissants are very popular. I’m also selling breads and English muffins.”

Q: What is an interesting fact about your business?
A: “The business name, ‘Le Petit Gateu,’ means ‘the small cake.'”

Q: What is your favorite part of the farmers market?
A: “The friendly atmosphere and getting to know my customers.”

Q: What else do you want customers to know about your business?
A: “I provide special occasion baked goods and wedding cakes. They are artistic, one-of-a-kind cakes!”
