While most eyes will be on the big Super Bowl Sunday game this weekend, let’s not forget one of the best parts of the day – the tasty appetizers and food!

I love Super Bowl Sunday. While I’m not the biggest sports fan (although I do love my Colts), there’s just something about the excitement in the air with the countdown to the big game, the anticipation of the hilarious (and often cringey) commercials, and of course, the food.

My husband and I always try to have special finger foods on the menu for the evening, even if it’s just the two of us watching from home. This year, I’m making an effort to shop (and eat) local, so here are my top picks for tasty game night takeout #AroundFishers.

101 beer kitchen

Ale Emporium Fishers Chili

What goes better with football than chili? While most people associate Ale Emporium with pizza and Hermanaki wings, trust me when I say you want to try their homemade, made-from-scratch chili. The perfect seasoning, meat and beans ratio topped with cheese and onions will warm you up and fill your tummy through halftime. If you’re looking for a lighter option – I recommend a cup of chili and a side salad with their housemade ranch dressing.

Curbside pickup is available.

wings

Chatham Tap Wings

My husband and I have been on the hunt around Indy for the city’s best chicken wings for the past few years (I see you Ale Emporium and Fat Dan’s?), and we found a top contender just down the street. Chatham Tap’s Prince Dean’s Angel Wings are at the top of my list. The sauce is the real MVP – a sweet, savory, sticky sauce (think more barbeque than traditional buffalo), and the tender, smoked meat falls right off the bone. I guarantee it will have you coming back for more. Just remember to have extra napkins on hand!

BONUS: Along with food, you can also order growlers for pickup and delivery. They always have a great beer selection on tap, including local beer from one of my favorites, St. Joseph Brewery (the Confessional IPA and Cornerstone Kolsch are my go-to’s).

Parks Place Pub

With 50+ TV’s in this Downtown Fishers restaurant, Parks Place Pub is THE spot for Superbowl Sunday dining. Even if you aren’t much of a football fan, you’ll easily find another sport to watch while you chow down on some of their yummy menu items. Their menu is constantly rotating with chef favorites, but some of the best options include Remmy’s Nachos (great for sharing with the family!), fresh-made-to-order Parks Place Pound wings, or one of their pizzas that feed 3 people.

Dine in at 8594 E. 116th Street in Suite 70. Check out their full menu here.

Noble Roman’s Breadsticks

If you feel like going the pizza route for this Super Bowl Sunday, I suggest Noble Roman’s Craft Pizza & Pub in west Fishers. Their Sicilian style pizza offers a gourmet twist to traditional delivery pizza, and their breadsticks are a showstopper.

Perhaps it’s a hint of nostalgia, since I grew up eating these breadsticks and watching them build our pizza through the little window at their old 96th Street location, but these yummy sticks of dough still hold a place in my heart. Don’t forget to order a side of their spicy cheese sauce and marinara on the side, and you’re good to go!

baller tots

Baller Tots from Four Day Ray

Is there a more appropriately named Super Bowl snack? Four Day Ray Brewing’s pop-able cousins to the traditional tator tot are the perfect start to your night. Reminiscent of a hush puppy, FDR mixes tater tots with smoked gouda, bacon, and sour cream, deep fries them, and then covers them in with Sriracha Ranch and chives. Talk about delicious!

If you’re looking to pair them with one of their local brews – I’d suggest the Air Raid Pale Ale (an English Pale Ale with citrus, malt, and caramel notes), which is available for growler fills.

Now that you have the low down on takeout for the night, sit back, relax, and get ready for some football! Did we forget a one of your favorite restaurants on our list? Share your favorite game day snacks using #AroundFishers.
