National Taco Day is coming up on October 4, so we asked around to find out which tacos our community just can’t get enough of!

“Our favorite tacos would be from our local Samano’s Taqueria! We like to switch it up, enjoying the different varieties they offer. They’re made fresh to order and the authentic flavor always hits that taco spot.”

“My favorite taco in Fishers was a bit unexpected for me! It is from Chao Vietnamese Street Food off 96th Street. This taco has grilled and charbroiled pork belly in a pear sauce with carrots, cilantro, spicy mayo aioli, and an avocado cream sauce. What I love is the fusion of different flavors it contains, it is familiar yet foreign, and so packed with flavor. I highly recommend to any lovers of tacos.”

“While this isn’t a Mexican restaurant, my favorite restaurant for tacos is Four Day Ray—The Ahi Poke Tuna Street Tacos are AWESOME. It comes with a special marinated Ahi Tuna, Asian Slaw, and Pickled Ginger Aioli. The food is just the right amount. You won’t walk away hungry. The restaurant is in a perfect location in downtown Fishers.”

“My go to favorite is the Grilled Seasoned Chicken Taco from Samano’s. This simple, yet very gratifying taco hits the spot every time. All of their tacos start with soft corn tortilla, which I firmly believe is the foundation to a great taco. They continue by layering the tortilla with seasoned chicken, onion, and cilantro. My personal touch to this dish is adding their signature jalapeno ranch to kick it up another notch. The taco has simple ingredients, but delivers great taste with every bite. And of course, you can’t have tacos without a drink. The Sprite and taco combo remains undefeated!”

“I’m not really a traditional taco fan. My favorite tacos right now are the Gochu Pork Holy Moly Tacos from Korave Korean BBQ at the Fishers Test Kitchen.  These tacos have transformed my Taco Tuesday.”

“As a transplant in the Midwest, it was essential to find a go-to Mexican spot. In California, we were a 3-hour drive across the border for tacos and cerveza on the water. There are a few good Mexican food options in Fishers, but talking tacos specifically, I would definitely have to go with Pancho’s Taqueria on 96th and Allisonville. It is authentic, fresh, affordable, and delicious. Tacos are less than $4 each (they also have $1 Taco Tuesdays!) and they have several meat, tortilla, and topping options. My absolute favorite is the fish taco on a flour tortilla with pico de gallo. Runner up is the shredded beef taco on a corn tortilla with cilantro and onion. Don’t forget to add some rice and beans on the side!”

“I recently tried the Grilled Seasoned Chicken Tacos from Samano’s food truck and they did not disappoint! So authentic and flavorful. The best tacos I’ve had in Fishers to date!”
