The City of Fishers has announced plans to build a 105,000-square-foot on Hoosier Road near 121st Street.
The new community center was designed based on input from residents. In 2021, a steering committee chaired by Fishers City Councilor Todd Zimmerman was formed to identify and prioritize community needs and how they could be served by an indoor facility. Nearly 3,500 residents completed a survey to share the amenities they most desired in this facility. Top items like a dog park, indoor playground, track, and aquatics facility were included in the design. See the site map.
Project Details
- The center will offer both memberships and day passes, with discounts for Fishers residents. It will also feature free amenities accessible to both residents and non-residents, including a large indoor playground, indoor track for walking and running, and café.
- The Center is estimated to cost $60 million and will be paid for through city-issued bonds following a build-operate-transfer agreement that is slated to end in 2026. City leadership does not anticipate the Fishers City Tax rate to increase as a result of financing this project.
- The project resolution will be presented to the Fishers Finance Committee on June 14 and the Fishers City Council on June 19 for approval.
- The project is anticipated to break ground this fall and open in spring 2025.

The center is planned to open in spring 2025. Once open, operating hours are anticipated to be Monday through Friday from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Hours are subject to change as operational plans are finalized closer to the open date.

Will there be road and trail improvements to 121st Street and Hoosier Road to accommodate increased traffic?
Yes, the City is looking into improvements to both the roadway and pedestrian trail to enhance connectivity, traffic flow, and safety. Additional details will be shared as necessary improvements are determined.
What is the total acreage of the property?
The 25-acre property includes the 105,000-square-foot facility, along with an outdoor dog park, parking lot, and greenspace.
What will happen to the land south of the property next along the road on the north side ofto 116th Street?
The land will remain with the Johnson family and is not part of the Community Center project. Specifically, this is the area with several berms along the roadway.
Will the indoor athletic courts host travel sports tournaments, like basketball and volleyball?
No, these courts are intended for community use and will not host large, regional tournaments.
How much will a membership cost?
The City has not announced prices, but memberships are targeted to be in line with local market costs, with discounts available for Fishers residents.
