What is the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series?

The Shop Fishers: Holiday Series is our annual winter celebration of small businesses kicking off on Small Business Saturday, November 26, and running through Saturday, December 31. During Shop Fishers, businesses throughout Fishers offer exclusive discounts, special promotions, or incentives for customers, which the City will help to promote through a coordinated marketing and social campaign.

Are businesses required to register to participate?

Businesses must register for the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series. Limited spots are available, and participation is not guaranteed. After you fill out the form, we’ll review your application and be in touch to confirm your involvement. Preference is given to businesses based out of Fishers. The deadline to be included with full marketing exposure is Friday, November 4. You must register for the holiday series even if you’ve participated in previous Shop Fishers events.

Is participation free?
Yes, there is no cost to participate in Shop Fishers: Holiday Series. Please note that limited spots are available, and participation is not guaranteed.

What happens after I register?
After you complete your application, our staff will review your application and be in touch to confirm your involvement.

How will the City of Fishers promote Shop Fishers?

The City will promote the event through a coordinated marketing and social media campaign.

Businesses who register before November 4 will receive:

  • Inclusion in the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series press release
  • Deal listing on the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series web page
  • Opportunity to donate an item to our Shop Fishers: Holiday Series social media giveaways for additional promotion
  • Marketing and promotional materials to display at your business to showcase your involvement
  • Priority for promotional mentions, including media hits and social media influencer promotion

    The general event will be promoted through the City’s website, e-newsletters, and social media networks. Promotional materials and signage will also be displayed throughout Fishers and at participating businesses.  The City’s Public Relations team will also work with local media and social media influencers to promote the event. More information about the City’s marketing initiatives will be shared during the optional meeting for participating businesses.

    Shop Fishers will be promoted through the City’s website, e-newsletters, and social media networks.     What businesses are allowed to participate?

    Fishers’ local restaurants and shops are invited to apply to be a part of Shop Fishers: Holiday Series. Participating businesses must be a local small business based in Fishers.

    Can I participate as an online business?

    Yes! Online businesses are welcome to participate as long as they are based in Fishers. 

    Can I offer an online discount?

    Yes, online discounts are allowed. 

    How do I register my business to participate?

    Shop Fishers:Holiday Series is free to participate in. Please complete the business application to apply. After you fill out the form, we’ll review your application and be in touch to confirm your involvement. Preference is given to businesses based out of Fishers. Limited spots are available, and participation is not guaranteed.

    Do I have to offer a deal through the entire week?

    During the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series, you have the option to offer your deal only during Small Business Saturday, November 26, or throughout the entire celebration from November 26-December 31.

    What type of promotion should I run at my business during the Shop Fishers: Holiday Series?

    There are many ways to entice customers by offering sales, promotions, or exclusive items during Shop Fishers. Your promotion can be whatever works best for your business or service. Promotions can be offered to all customers during the event or offered exclusively during a certain time of day or for the first XX customers. Example promotions include:

    • A percentage off the total purchase, or a percentage off a particular item
    • An exclusive menu item only available during the Shop Fishers
    • Buy one, get one free
    • A free gift with purchase
    • Gift card promotions (i.e. purchase a $50 gift card and get a free $10 gift card)

    How can I help support the event as a participating business? 

    The success of Shop Fishers is due to collaboration between the City and our local businesses. A digital toolkit will be provided with sample social media content to help you promote your involvement in the initiative. Outside of sharing social media content, the City will provide marketing materials to display at your location. We encourage you to promote the event to your patrons, friends, and family as well!
