Life is better on the beach, especially when you can soak up the sun without leaving Fishers! Saxony Lake and Beach (13358 Pennington Road) offers residents and visitors a chance to feel the sand beneath their toes at this 20-acre lake and 300-foot beach made from Indiana sand. From building sandcastles with the kids to swimming in the lake during sunny days, Saxony Lake and Beach offers summer fun for the whole family.

Saxony Lake & Beach is open approximately Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend. Hours vary throughout the season. Beach entry is free for residents and $5 for nonresidents. Outside food and coolers are allowed, though no alcohol is permitted, and convenient temporary restrooms are available on-site.

Along with swimming and beach activities, Saxony Lake & Beach visitors who carry a state fishing permit can throw in a line at one of residents’ favorite fishers spots in the city. Kayak and paddleboards are available to rent from Freedom Kayak Adventures.

The beach is also home to one of Fishers’ premiere event venues, Saxony Hall. The 4,500-square-foot community building features a beautiful view of the sparkling water from the lakeside terrace, exquisite fire pits, and a stunning stone fireplace. The venue can accommodate 160 seated guests and is available to rent year-round.
