Fishers District Expansion

Project Details

Since 2019, The Yard at Fishers District has been one of our city’s hottest culinary and entertainment destinations. Now, we’re bringing even more restaurants, new businesses, and world-class entertainment to our community.

In partnership with Thompson Thrift, the City of Fishers is expanding the Fishers District with three new neighborhoods: Slate, The Union, and The Crossing. Each new neighborhood will bring a variety of unique and exciting opportunities for Fishers families.

Slate

Slate at Fishers District will be an upscale residential community, featuring beautiful villas and multi-family townhomes in a modern farmhouse style. The residences will average 1,215 square feet with one, two, three, and four-bedroom options available.

Each residence will offer premium amenities, such as: smart home technology; 10-foot ceilings; walk-in closets; gourmet bar-kitchens with quartz countertops; stainless steel appliances; full-size washers and dryers, and more. Residents at Slate can also relax and unwind at the neighborhood clubhouse—with a 24-hour fitness center, a resort-style swimming pool, and community bark parks.

The Crossing

The Crossing at Fishers District will be the final phase of this expansion, creating a premier cultural district in the heart of our city. This neighborhood will feature an array of retail and culinary destinations, including Indiana’s first Chicken N Pickle, as well as the city’s newest entertainment venue: The Fishers Event Center.

The Fishers Event Center will be the largest mid-size event center in the region—capable of seating up to 8,500 people. From basketball games to concert tours, this state-of-the-art event center will bring a world of entertainment right to our community. And best of all, the center will be a community-focused venue, where local athletes can compete and our children can walk across the graduation stage.

The Union

The Union at Fishers District will be a direct expansion of The Yard with 10.5 acres of new mixed-use development. This unique destination will attract new dining, lodging, and shopping opportunities to our city.

This neighborhood will help attract more visitors and opportunities to our community, while building on the fun entertainment and food experiences that residents love about The Yard. The Union will also offer new, multi-family residences alongside these businesses, creating a true live-work-play community within the District.

In August 2022, Andretti Global announced plans to build their global motorsports headquarters here in Fishers. This new 575,000 sq. ft. facility will be located on 90 acres of land alongside the Indianapolis Metropolitan Airport and the Nickel Plate Trail.

Their headquarters will manage all of Andretti’s commercial functions and serve as the base of operations for their NTT INDYCAR SERIES, Indy Lights, IMSA programs, and other future racing initiatives. The facility will also house advanced research and development efforts at Andretti Technologies, as well as a new Museum & Innovation Center to inspire the future of motorsports. Once complete, the Andretti Global Headquarters will be a $200 million investment in our economy, creating up to 500 new jobs by 2026.

The project broke ground on December 6, 2022.
